Local Health Groups are established through a decision by the Head of the Health Region and consist of up to 12 staff members, employed full time, strengthening and upgrading the effort provided by the public structures of the National Primary Health Care Network and its decentralised units. For each Local Health Group, securing of the necessary basic medical equipment, office equipment and furniture, as well as computer and communications equipment in order for it operate, is provided for. The action aims towards navigating public in a rational way to the National Health System through redirecting the demand of secondary and tertiary care, such as hospitals, to quality and preventive Primary Health Care services with a holistic approach.
Benefits: Full access to primary health care services is ensured for both the general population as well as vulnerable social groups and people with disabilities.
